On 1 June 2025 (Sunday), the Sargaon Pilgrimage prayerfully accomplished in Sargaon, the native place of Mother Mary Bernadette Prasad Kispotta, Servant of God. The program commenced with the Rosary procession at 8.00 a.m. followed by the homage ceremony at 8.30 a.m. Thereafter, at 9.00 a.m. the solemn Eucharistic celebration was presided over by His Grace Vincent Aind, DD, Archbishop of Ranchi Archdiocese. Rev. Fr. Ajit Kumar Xess, SJ, Provincial of Ranchi Jesuits, Rev. Fr. Francis Minj, SJ and Rev. Fr. BipinKandulna, Parish Priest of Mandar Parish were the con-celebrants. About 20 more Priests also devotionally concelebrated the Holy Mass. Honourable Minister- Mrs. Shilpi Neha Tirkey, Jharkhand Government, Agriculture, Animal Husbandry and Co-operative Department also was present on this auspicious occasion. The liturgy and choir was meaningfully led by the Sisters of Gumla Province and Youth of Gumla Parish. Sr. Bertha Tigga, DSA and Sr. NutanXaxa, DSA were the masters of ceremony.Approximately three thousand pilgrims from different Dioceses and Parishes actively participated in the pilgrimage.
Rev. Sr. Lily Grace Topno, DSA, Superior General of the Congregation of the Daughters of St. Anne Ranchi cordially welcomed one and all to the pilgrimage in the beginning of the thanksgiving Mass. Hereafter, Sr. DeepawaliDungdung presented a brief history of Mother Bernadette. In his heart touching homily, Archbishop Vincent Aind, DD emphasized the love of God manifested through His Son Jesus Christ. Since it was the solemnity of the Ascension of our Lord, he said that the coming of Jesus from heaven to earth (Incarnation) and having accomplished His salvific mission, going back from earth to heaven (Ascension)- both these events show God’s profound love for us all. He added that taking the human form like us and giving us divine nature like Him was the main purpose of Christ’s becoming man. He indicated that even the limited life of human being is meant to gain eternal life. Hence, we also can enter into an eternal life of heaven from a perishable life of the world.
At the end of the Holy Mass, Rev. Sr. Anima Dang, DSA, Provincial Superior of Gumla Province expressed her heartfelt gratitude to all the participants. Thereafter, all the dignitaries were honoured by the Authorities of the DSA Congregation with the saplings. All pilgrims enjoyed agape meal followed by the Eucharistic celebration and shared their joys together with one another. At the same time, they made it a point to visit the birthplace of Mother Bernadette, situated in her native place Sargaon. In this way, the pilgrims deeply experienced throughout the day God’s abundant blessings through the intercession of Mother Mary Bernadette.
